The world famous Wunderground Magic Academy is pleased to offer a variety of magical instruction plans to meet your wondrous needs. All classes are taught by professional magicians and entertainers (though sometimes they may be taught by jugglers, ventriloquists or other professionals as well.)

Children's Magic Classes

Kids love magic, and they really love learning and performing it! Magic classes at the Wunderground Magic Academy are a great way to have fun learning to become an amazing magician. Magic helps improve digital dexterity, public speaking skills, creativity, self confidence, and imagination.

Magic classes for children ages 7-13 run continuously throughout the year with a cost of $100 per six sessions. Classes are held on Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Wunderground Magic Shop.

When you attend classes at the Wunderground Magic Academy you’ll learn to perform fabulous feats of amazing magic with ordinary objects such as ropes, coins, rubber bands, and more. Classes are taught by an outstanding instructor who is an accomplished magician and children’s performer.

When you sign up you will receive a magic kit to hold all your supplies, a magic wand, a performance mat, and a punch card good for six lessons anytime within the next six months.  All necessary props are provided as part of the course.

Adult Magic Workshops

Magic workshops for adults (ages fourteen and older) are held at Wunderground Magic Academy on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. The Cost is $20 at the door.

Each month will focus on a different aspect of the performance of magic. We will share magical expertise and showmanship involving coins, cards, rope, impromptu magic, mentalism, and much more.

Executive Magic Program

Executive magic classes are held at Wunderground Magic Academy on the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. The Cost is $30 at the door.

A unique program of high impact, easy to perform magical effects that showcase your company, brand, and product.  Inspire customers, coworkers, and supervisors with your ability to accomplish the impossible.

Special Group Instruction

Excellent for: After School Programs, Scout Groups and Summer Camps

Wunderground Magic Academy can custom tailor classes for the needs of your group’s age and skill level. Participants see each effect performed then go behind the scenes and learn the secrets that make them work. The magician will go over the performance of the tricks emphasizing presentation, patter, gestures, stage presence, and performance.

Magic helps improve digital dexterity, public speaking skills, creativity, self confidence, and imagination. These classes are very interactive and hands-on.

Special groups are accommodated at the Wunderground Magic Shop by appointment outside of normal store hours. The cost is $15 per child with a $75 minimum.

Scout Activities

Both the Boy and Girl Scouts have special activities involving magic, and The Wunderground Magic Academy has special programs to help you achieve these magical goals.

The Cub Scout Bear Elective 13 involves the following:

1. Learn and show three magic tricks.
2. With your den, put on a magic show for someone else.
3. Learn and show four puzzles.
4. Learn and show three rope tricks.

The Junior Girl Scout Puzzlers Badge involves the following:

1. A Maze with a Theme. Design your own maze.
2. Crossword Puzzler. Make a crossword puzzle.
3. Do You See It? Learn about optical illusions.
4. Picaria. Learn to play it.
5. It's in the Cards. Learn and perform 3 card tricks.
6. It's Magic. Learn three magic tricks.
7. The Game of Nim. Play it several times.
8. Scramble. Make a word scramble with 5 - 10 words.
9. Word Search. Make up a word search.
10. One Dollar Words. Play described word game.

Wunderground Magic will work with your group to complete these activities through hands on magical activities, challenging puzzles, strategic games, amazing performances, and lots of fun.  The cost is $15 per child with a $75 minimum.

Performers Classes

When you've mastered the basic techniques of magic and want to improve your act, come to our classes for magical performers. Performers Classes are intended for those of you who already know how to do some tricks but want to learn about putting together an act, how to use stage settings, working with music, working with audience volunteers, and all the other aspects of entertaining with magic that go beyond the mechanics of the tricks.

Each session we will review performance techniques in a classroom setting. Then, about once a month, we'll get out of the dank and putrid air of the Wunderground dungeons to put our training into practice on the stage, street, and halls by performing for hospitals, nursing homes, charity events, and other good causes, because the best way to learn is by doing. (Though it's much better to start performing in front of an appreciative and receptive audience than the alternative.)

To join the Performer's Classes you must have an existing repertoire of magic effects, pass an audition, and be at least 13 years of age. We will meet the second and fourth Thursday of each month and for shows as necessary. Contact the store for more details.

Juggling Workshops

Wunderground Magic Academy teaches classes in regular, toss juggling as well as contact juggling.  Contact the store for more information.

Entertainer Workshops

In these classes we explore entertainer arts, such as face painting, fortune telling, and balloon animals. This is the kind of material that could be used to create an act in itself or as an extension to your regular performance for additional income.  Help us help you become more entertaining.
