Death and Taxes

April 16, 2008

Hi, Paul here from the poor house, which is all that's left of the Vast Wunderground Magical Empire after taxes. If you're one of the lucky ones getting a refund, why not spend it on a prop that will improve your magic performance?

Now that tax season has passed, I'm reminded that there are only two things that are inevitable in life: death and taxes. We magicians often perform death defying feats, but I think a largely overlooked theme of magical entertainment could be...tax defying feats. Think of the possibilities: have your credit suspended, juggle books, escape paperwork, or leave your audience in awe wondering "Just where the *bleep* did that number come from?" Of course, if you do decide to take up this area of legerdemain, please don't tell anyone I even suggested it.

The Big Stuff
If you were waiting to purchase the Bill Smith Chair Suspension or the Strait Jacket, it's too late. They've been sold. The good news though is that the Tabouret and the Vanishing Dove Cage are still available. Don't let these get away. At this price they're a steal.

Juggling Equipment
In addition to our regular collection of juggling knives, torches, balls, rings, and clubs we're pleased to offer exercise balls for juggling. These are much heavier balls that provide an upper body workout while improving your skills. Also check out the Sling Chute from Klutz. This flings a 32" parachute up to 40 feet in the air, a great way to enjoy the warmer weather.

Talent Show Case
If you are planning to perform in a talent show we've set aside a display case filled with effects that are easy to do yet play big. These are effects like flower box productions, change bags, needle through balloon kits, and appearing flowers that can be seen from a stage, pack small, and can be performed without a lot of practice, so you can concentrate on the performance aspects of your act.

Balloons
For all those balloon artists out there, we have an electronic balloon pump. We also have regular pumps and 260Q balloons for creating balloon sculptures.

Classes
Our Performers' Classes are in full swing every Monday evening from 6:30 until 8PM. Their first performance will be April 25 for Honor Flight, a charity organization that flies World War II veterans to Washington D.C. More details on this event appear below.

Kids Classes meet every Saturday morning at 10 AM

Adult Workshops are the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM
