Wunderground News: Houdini Sceance Edition

Hi, it's Paul from Wunderground Magic here with more magical happenings than you can shake a wand at. Then again we have some really big wands here at the Wunderground.
ADULT WORKSHOP
It's the beginning of another month and that means it's time for an all new, amazing adult magic workshop.
This month’s theme is “cards,” or as Ricky Jay would say: “Prolific prestidigitation with pasteboards.”
Come out on Tuesday, October 7th, from 6:30 until 8PM and learn to amaze, amuse, and befuddle with an ordinary pack of playing cards.
KIDS CLASSES
Magic classes for kids ages 7 to 13 take place every Saturday morning at 10AM.

FAMOUS CUSTOMERS
The other day famous 17th century philosopher René Descartes walked into the shop. He was looking around and I asked if I could help him. He said "I think not" and disappeared.
HAUNTED TOUR
The Haunted Detroit Tour is an interactive tour of some of Metro-Detroit's haunted locations. Guests assemble for the tour in the back parking lot of the Wunderground Magic Shop at 16 S Main in Clawson, Michigan and are shuttled on chartered transportation to haunted sites before taking in refreshments at a haunted “watering hole” and then seeing some more spooky sites!
Guests are provided with charter transportation, history of the sites, and tour guides equiped with ghost hunting tools such as digital cameras, infra-red thermometers, and EMF detectors to help identify potential ghost/paranormal activity.

FLEA MARKET
This weekend the Ann Arbor Magic Club is sponsoring it's annual magic flea market and auction.
Now, I'm not sure whether magic fleas are anything like circus fleas, but it promises to be a good time with contests, auctions, and many dealers with lots of used magic.

TRICK OR TREAT STATION
Wunderground Magic is looking for people to help out at a "Trick or Treat Station" for a Halloween Trail at Clawson City Park on Oct 18th from 6 - 8pm.
Children dressed in costume, and accompanied by an adult, will be trick or treating along the wood chip trail in the park.
We’re looking for people to dress like a magician and hand out candy. Make sure the costume is kid appropriate and not too scary.

HOUDINI
This month we remember the passing of Houdini, the most famous magician who ever lived. Here's a brief description from Wikipedia:
When Houdini arrived at the Garrick Theater in Detroit , Michigan , on October 24, 1926, for what would be his last performance, he had a fever of 104 degrees F (40°C). Despite a diagnosis of acute appendicitis, Houdini took the stage. Afterwards, he was hospitalized at Detroit 's Grace Hospital . Houdini died of peritonitis from a ruptured appendix at 1:26 p.m. in Room 401 on October 31 (Halloween), 1926, at the age of 52.
