Wunders of May
May 1, 2009
Hello again. This is Paul from Wunderground Magic looking forward to some May flowers already, but if that fails we have a large selection of spring flowers, feather flowers, and flower box productions to get you through until June.
KIDS CLASSES
Magic classes for children ages 7 to 13 are held every Saturday morning at 10AM in Abu-Kadabra, our secret dungeon.
Over the summer we would like to offer a second class on a weekday and possibly a magic camp. Please contact the store if you would be interested in either of these options and the days that work best for you.
ADULT WORKSHOP
We’ve been gazing into our crystal balls, shuffling tarot cards, and reading tea leaves to try to figure out the topic of our next adult workshop. Finally we gave it all up and decided to go with mental magic, since we’re all pretty mental anyway. (Of course we could have just checked calendar on the web site, but that would have been too easy.)
We’ll teach you how to predict the future, read minds, feel psychic vibrations, and influence others through sheer force of will, or at least give very convincing demonstrations of the same.
Adult workshops are the first Tuesday of each month, which will be May 5th, from 6:30PM until 8. We supply everything you need except the $20 workshop fee.
EVENTS
Relay for Life Our very own Performer’s Class will be part of Clawson’s Relay for Life May 2, 2009 from 10AM until 10PM
The performers will be cycling through on their own schedule. Look for the Celebrate Clawson booth - right across from the park pavilion It will be the site with a school bus painted black to look like a train.

COOL STUFF
The Wizard’s Assistant’s Hat is a comedy prop good for a thousand laughs. After that I think you have to return it and get a new one. Seriously (or as serious as I can be when describing a comedy prop) this is a beautifully made wizard’s hat that you can use to dress up your assistant. At the conclusion on an effect, have your assistant take a bow and the hat comes off to reveal a toilet plunger attached to their head. Laughs will follow (but be sure to count them as there is a strict one thousand laugh limit.) These props were part of our recent “secret sale” secret acquisition. Thank you for not telling anybody about it.
Lunch is Served is a new book of sixty different routines using the “Out to Lunch” principle featuring such luminaries as Kenton Knepper, Richard Webster, Banachek, and Wayne Rogers. Holes move, signatures jump, bills transport, truly magical moments are crafted from principal.
Forgetful Freddie is the all time kid show classis about a kid who was always forgetting things. One day he even forgot his head. A kindly magician (that would be you) offered to fashion Freddie a new head out of a balloon and after some comedic byplay POP goes the balloon and back comes the head.
The magical Tea Kettle lets you pour drinks of different colors from the same pot – red and orange and green and blue and yellow and any other color you can imagine. To show how it works, the magician (that would be you) removes the lid of the kettle and pulls out a rainbow of colored silks and streamers, all perfectly dry. Then the magician pours the colored liquids back into the kettle and proceeds to pour back out perfectly clear liquid.
