News from Wunderground
August 27, 2009
Hello, I’m Paul, and welcome to another edition of the News from Wunderground, providing you with your seasonal stock of superlatives including the most amazing magic, the best demonstrators, the fastest card tricks, the most dangerous coin tricks, and the most elegant juggling. Then again, we also have the scariest dungeons, the worst jokes, the least deceptive secret entrance, and the most bizarre newsletters.

New Class: Contact Juggling
By special arrangement expert juggler Flec S. Mindscape (aka. Flec the Uncertain) will be teaching contact juggling every Wednesday in September from 5-7 PM at Wunderground Magic. You may join the classes anytime and attend as many sessions as you desire, but the more you attend, the better you’ll get. The cost is $40 for the first lesson, which includes a practice contact ball, and $20 for each subsequent lesson.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing contact juggling, watch Flec in action at the Starwood Festival. It’s one of the most beautiful, elegant, and amazing forms of juggling.
Adult Magic Workshop - September 8
Our next adult workshop will be on Tuesday, September 8, 6:30-8PM. Technically, that’s the second Tuesday of the month rather than the first Tuesday, but Dave is out of town on some ultra secret magic extravaganza he couldn’t talk about. I assumed you’d rather wait a week than have a substitute teacher. Trust me, he’s worth it.
September’s topic will be Platform Magic, for performances on a small stage of 30-40 people. This allows you to use magic to entertain at parties, group sales presentations, and small nightclubs. $20 gets you into the dungeon classroom. Getting out is your problem.
Kids’ Magic Classes
It’s back to school time. That means back to magic class. Time to pack up your wand, grab your performance mats, dust off those magic books you’ve been meaning to read all summer, and head off to the dungeons of Wunderground Magic for magic classes. You’ll learn all sorts of cool stuff they don’t teach in regular school (like spelling, (mind) reading, and multiplying your money.) Instead of report cards, you’ll learn card tricks and instead of arithmetic you’ll learn coin tricks. Wunderground Magic classes are a great way to learn public speaking, critical thinking, and creativity. They’re still only $75 for six sessions.
Newest TOPS
The latest issue of The Newest TOPS is out. It contains an interview with Keith Stickley by John Sturk, pictures from the Abbott’s Get-together, and an article on bullet catching by some idiot who thinks kids should try it at home??? - Oh, wait, that was me. Never mind.
