Wunder Up for the Car Show

Welcome to another stupendous edition of the news from Wunderground Magic, where we only print the news that affects your magical life. Our dungeon excavations are coming along nicely. We just cleared out another big deposit of magical illusions that were blocking the way to a vast vein of rich gems that we’ve been using to supply our Hot Rods, Gahoozle Sticks, and Magic Gems (and at less than $10 you know that you’re getting the finest gems available anywhere.)

CLOSURES

Wunderground Magic will be closed on Monday, August 3, and will not re-open until 1:30PM on Tuesday, August 4, so that we can remodel our dungeons to give them more of a dank, musty, gruesome feel. We will be open in plenty of time for the adult magic workshop that evening.

VOTE 4 THE BEST

Channel 4 is running a contest called “Vote 4 the Best,” and you know how we can’t resist a weak pun, so we decided to compete in the category of “Children’s Gifts.” Vote for us at http://wdiv.cityvoter.com/wunderground-magic-inc/biz/371811.

CLAWSON CAR SHOW

The annual Clawson Lions Club "Down on Main Street" Car Show (and Magical and Juggling Extravaganza) will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009. Come out and watch great performances, see awesome cars, and eat food that’s bad for you.

KIDS MAGIC CLASSES

Somebody talked, because our Kids’ Magic Classes have become a sensation. We’ve had to lock the doors at 10:01 to keep the line of hopefuls to only those we can reasonably accommodate in the secret dungeon classroom so don’t be late.

If you’re interested in learning magic, and you’re at least 7 but no older than 13, come to Wunderground Magic at 10AM on Saturday morning, and discover how amazing you can be.

ADULT WORKSHOP

This month at the Adult Workshop we’ll be learning to fly, float, levitate, and generally get things off the ground. The workshops are held the first Tuesday of every month in the dungeons of Wunderground Magic. Your $20 tuition covers the instructor’s time and all the supplies you will need to perform amazing feats of flight, unless you want to rent a crane, in which case you’re on your own.

MAGIC GET TOGETHER

Every year magicians from all over the world descend on little Colon, Michigan (The Magic Capital of the World) for their annual Get-Together. If you enjoy magic and you haven’t experienced it yet, you owe it to yourself to go there once in your life. This tiny town in the middle of nowhere harbors three magic shops. There’s magic in the streets, at the diners, in the bars, and everywhere you go.

This year there’s a special incentive to attend the Get-Together because our very own Keith Stickley will be hosting the Wednesday night show.

There are no hotels in Colon, so I usually stay in Coldwater. The closest things they have to a restaurant are diners and pizza, so you should ask about better places to eat (though the pizza is pretty good.) Shopping choices include a hardware store, a grocery store, a pharmacy, and not much else, though it seems that everyone in town has a garage sale that week.
